Nick Shaw has worked in the accounting profession since 1995 in both public practice and commerce.
Nick has a solid foundation of accounting knowledge having begun his career training in the audit and assurance division of Deloitte before working in commercial accounting roles at Honeywell and George Weston Foods.
From 2001 Nick’s focus has been on the SME market, firstly as the finance director of two successful start up businesses, then as a chartered accountant in public practice, including as a partner at an established Sydney based firm. In 2009 Nick became a founding director of Shaw Downie.
Nick holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology. He has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1998 and is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia. Nick is also an active member in several industry groups and regularly attends industry seminars.
Nick is committed to ensuring his clients receive professional, sound advice that is appropriate and is tailored to their needs and goals.
Chirag Gandhi BBA (PU, India) MAcc ATI CPA
Chirag Gandhi has worked in the Australian accounting profession since 2010.
Chirag has a solid grounding in tax and accounting having provided compliance and consulting advice to small to medium businesses in a range of industries as well as attending to the affairs of high net wealth individuals and family groups.
His strong technical skills, proactive practical approach and affable nature combine to enable Chirag to make a strong contribution to Shaw Downie and its clients.
Shortly after attaining a Bachelor of Business Administration from Panjab University in India in 2007, where he grew up, Chirag emigrated to Australia. By 2010 he had added a Masters of Accounting from Macquarie University and membership of CPA to his qualifications. Whilst already qualified as a CPA, Chirag expects to complete the CA programme in 2016.
